Abstract
This work contains the main doctrines and concepts of creation of the first consumer societies; it provides the short review of history of cooperative society’s development and formation in Russia to show the efficiency and social importance of this international organizational and legal form. Moreover, the work describes the international values and the principles of activity of consumer societies and analyzes key problems of modern consumer societies. The article was written as a part of the RFBR project No 12-06-00286-а.
